- The GSE is like the popular GMAT but its based on the UK FGA (First Graduate Assessment). GSE came from the need to establish one Exam for Many Jobs. Like JAMB and GMAT which allows an applicant sit one exam and apply to many institutions based on the results.
- Applicants should not be made to keep pursuing aptitude test dates up and down the country. Applicants should simply sit one exam and be able to apply to many jobs using the same result.
- GSE is available in 22 locations in 21 states. Applicants no longer need to travel to the major commercial cities Lagos, Abuja and Port-Harcourt in order to be considered.
- With GSE, you know your results. You get to assess how well you have done. There is feedback.
- GSE allows you to schedule a session that is most convenient for you. The sessions are available all year round, so you can sit the exam whenever you are ready. You can also reschedule if something comes up.
- Applicants will no longer be treated like cattle under GSE. They will not be herded into large halls in their hundreds at times waiting for hours under the sun while mobile policemen are warding them. With GSE, exams are in air-conditioned computer based exam centres, making it very conducive to take an exam.
- Exam mercenaries will have a tough time with GSE. Their finger print and digital photo will be taken at the exam centre and can be re-confirmed at the interview or employment phase.
- GSE allows everybody the same opportunity and allows companies to hire easily based on merit. It does not matter where you live, does not matter if your qualification is a degree or a diploma, it also does not matter who you know. With GSE, you do not need “connection”.
- With GSE, you get sample questions which give you an idea of the type of questions to expect. This should help your preparation.
- With GSE, you can retake the exam if you are not satisfied with your performance. You have a second chance.
- The number of organisations that are adopting the GSE standard is growing in quantity and quality.
- The process is easy and internet based. The questions are all in the UK making it impossible to bribe for “expo”. Data security is very high making it impossible to change your scores. The GSE approach offers a level playing field.
- It allows centralization and standardisation across board in terms of the difficulty of the exam questions, the environment in which it is sat, the way it is invigilated, the access to all applicants etc.
- GSE will always send you sms notification for your results. They will also endeavour to inform you via sms each time a new company is recruiting.
- GSE will soon have a centre in every state. Every Nigerian, no matter the state they live should have a stress free opportunity to sit the exam.
- In addition to your exam results, GSE collects your personal information and makes this available to employers in an electronic easy to use format.
- GSE is in line with international best practice for Computer Based Assessment. The exams and their presentation are all in line with the International Test Commission standards for e-testing.
- The GSE fee is refundable if you decide not to sit the exam any more.
- GSE will allow companies recruit faster since they don’t have to worry about the logistics of arranging their own aptitude tests. They simply interview and employ.
- With GSE, the marking is not done by human beings but by a computer programme. You will not suffer from lost script, examiner fatigue/tiredness or any other unscrupulous conduct, transcription errors etc. System and process integrity is very high.
